Tiquicia

Tiquicia is one of the most famous restaurants in Costa Rica, for both locals and tourists. What makes this Escazu restaurant special is the unbeatable view it offers of the entire Central Valley. The food is typical Costa Rican food, and is quite affordable offering plates ranging from $6 to $14. They have a decent wine selection and have entertainment on weekends. Getting to Tiquicia is quite the task however, as anyone who has been to Costa Rica can understand. Because it is perched on top of the mountain, it requires you to drive uphill on back roads for about 20 minutes and it can be easy to get lost. It may be best to just take a cab. EXT gives this restaurant a rating of 4/5.

  3. I liked Tiquicia as well — as far as I’m concerned it’s a must visit restaurant for someone who wants to experience typical Costa Rican food that is truly well done.

Tiquicia is located in San Antonio de Escazu — up in the hills behind San Rafael and much further up than Escazu Centro.
