Pineapple Plantation Visit

A neat little stop along our way to doing the Kayak River Float tour in Arenal was a pineapple plantation. Pineapples are now Costa Rica´s number one export surpassing Coffee a short while ago. We were told that the most exported pinneapple is called number 5, because it is genetically modified. We drove through this plantation for what felt like 30 minutes. I had no idea that pineapples came out of the ground upside down and were limited to one per plant.
