Mundo Loco 2009 in Costa Rica

The Mundo Loco festival is a one of a kind event in Costa Rica. Mundo Loco is a large event that promotes environmental causes and mixes the message with a large array of international artists. This years main focus is on the short supply of drinking water and the desperate need to save it. Mundo Loco in Costa Rica will be taking place in La Guacima in the Autodroma, which they have renamed the Bosque for the weekend. This is the same location where the imperial festivals take place each year in Costa Rica.

This festival is similar to a mix of Woodstock with electronic music. Mundo Loco is attended mostly by Costa Ricans and has been growing among the locals as something to call their own. Due to this being such a small country, with such a small population (around 4 million), large international festivals are few and far between.

The festival is on April 4th and the doors open at 10am. It is not always a good idea to drive to a festival in Costa Rica, but la Guacima is definitely the premiere event center in the country with the capacity to hold over 1500 cars. Car races are the usual attraction of the Autodrome, but the race track also serves as a massive parking lot for such events. Early bird tickets go for 10 000 colones at any of the Vertigo stores, and the door tickets will go for 11 000 colones. A free CD will be handed out to the first 1000 people arriving to Mundo Loco 2009.
