Dominicalita is located next to the more famous Dominical beach which can be found on the southern coast of Costa Rica. This beach is one of my favorite beaches in Costa Rica. While my friends and I drove next to it a few years ago, I could not believe my eyes when I saw this massive beach, with pristine sand and not one person to be seen anywhere. We pulled over right away and explore this Costa Rican gem. This was a great addition to their Costa Rica trip.
I don’t believe that this beach will remain deserted for much longer. Costa Rica is currently in the final stages of the super highway that will cut travel time to Dominicalita by almost 30%, which means the area will surely be swamped by investors and tourists. Essentially, Dominicalita is one of the last areas in Costa Rica that allows you to escape and truly feel like you are in Paradise.
Dominicalita however, is not the ideal choice for those coming for a short trip to Costa Rica. Beaches in Guanacaste and Manuel Antonio are much easier to get to and ensure you get to experience some of the best beaches to be seen anywhere in the World. I recommend going to Dominicalita only if you rent a car. Public transportation is not very good, and taxi rates are a little steep.
