DEPECHE MODE in Costa Rica

Depeche Mode will be coming to Costa Rica once again on October 8th, 2009. Of course this amazing live show was not seen by many Costa Ricans as their last show was way back in 1994. Costa Rica is a country that is borderline fanatical regarding their beloved 80′s music, and this concert should sell out very quickly, even though the ticket prices are fairly steep for a concert in Costa Rica. The cheapest tickets are going on sale for 20.000 colones, and the priciest are going for a whooping 60.000 colones.

There has been great enthusiasm about the choice of location, the Autódromo La Guácima, which serves as the country’s only major race track. In checking out the Imperial Festival there in 2008, I was truly impressed by the race track, and it was by far my favorite concert experience since arriving here in 2005. I had the pleasure of listening to Duran Duran and the Smashing Pumpkins at the two day concert event.

For those of you wanting tickets, there are still some available in all categories at specialticket.net, Costa Rica’s top ticket provider. Specialticket.net is also the ticket provider for most sporting events in Costa Rica.

Depeche Mode will be here performing on their massive Tour of the Universe, which started on May 6th, 2009, and will go through over 50 different cities and won’t end until February 2010. Depeche Mode will be playing in Mexico two days prior, and in Columbia two days after. All expectations are that this world tour will sell out globally. A live recording of their first official show of the live tour in Israel is available for download online. One thing is for certain, all those lucky enough to get their hands on some tickets will have a live concert event they will never forget. Costa Rica has a great tradition when it comes to having lively concerts.
