Many people travel to Costa Rica because they’ve heard about how wonderful Costa Ricans are, and would love to get to know them better. This is in fact what happened to me, and one of the main reasons I visited Costa Rica in the first place. I also must admit that experiencing another country or culture is a lot more fun when you can spend it with someone from the actual country you are visiting, and in my case, if that person is a woman.
This is a very simple post with a lot of generalizations. Obviously, every Costa Rican is different, but I feel that knowing a little about the other culture prior to arriving will assist you in meeting someone from Costa Rica.
Costa Rican Women
Costa Rican Women tend to more more beautiful than most women back home. They are used to getting lots of attention from Costa Rican men, and may find it strange if you do not compliment them on how they look or what they are wearing. Many Costa Rican women love to go out dancing, and don’t seem to care all that much that we foreigners aren’t all that good when it comes to dancing.
Costa Rican women as a whole, love to laugh and have a good time. I know first hand they are quite patient when it comes to communication, and it does not matter if they can’t speak English, they often times will be the ones making the effort to speak English.
One thing Costa Rican women do not like is a loud and annoying Gringo. The “look at me” behavior is a definite turn off, and getting wasted on alcohol will not bring you much luck, unless you are looking for a girl with substantially less class. Whatever you do, do not make silly comments about how you didn’t know Costa Rica had so many cars, or that you had no idea that there was a Burger King in Costa Rica. This just shows your ignorance and will not serve you well in helping you meet Costa Rican women.
Keep in mind that Costa Rica offers a quality education system to its students and free post secondary education, something that is offered neither in Canada nor the USA. Also, remember that Costa Ricans are not poor by any stretch of the imagination, so please do not act pleased with yourself when you pick up a $10 bill.
So follow these little tips and you should be fine when it comes to meeting women in Costa Rica.
Pretty funny article. I live in Nicaragua, and have to admit the women there are pretty similar. Good job mate.
