Mawamba Lodge is located in Tortuguero on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. Mawamba has 36 comfortable, yet basic rooms. Some of the amenities of this hotel are a pool surrounded by exotic gardens, two family-style restaurants, a sand volleyball court, and a conference room where daily lectures on Tortuguero’s natural history are presented. This is a very rustic hotel, and is not for those looking for a high class stay, then again, no hotel in Tortuguero would answer those needs.

This lodge offers 80 rooms. Some of the highlights of this hotel are an open air restaurant, 2 bars, one of them over the lake, a Swimming pool with hydro-massage waterfall and a small islet and an open butterfly garden. Like every hotel in the area, it tries to create an green environment where its guests can truly feel as though they have gotten away. No nightlife, no party and no roads. Just nature.
