Tilajari Hotel is located in San Carlos. It has 82 beautiful rooms. Some amenities Tilajari hotel offers are 3 swimming pools, sauna, 6 lighted tennis courts, a soccer field and a multi use field. Tilajari also has with a butterfly garden that is popular for guests. We definitely consider this one of the top choices for the Arenal area. It is a higher end option where very few higher end options are offered.

It features 124 rooms, all that have strategically places balconies to offer the guest the best views possible of the Volcano. What I enjoyed most about this lovely hotel are the hot springs that are located on site. For those of you who prefer the more refreshing water of a pool will also be pleased to find to large swimming pools with swim up bar.

The Arenal Paraiso is located on a large property, and their superior rooms are actually indivisual cabins, giving the hotel guests their very own private room. I stayed in the standard room and found the bathroom to be quite large and the bedroom to be great. Cable T.V, air conditioning and two queen beds are equipped in every room. A buffet breakfast is included in the rate, and was quite possibly the highlight of my stay at this hotel.

Located in a cloud forest, the hotel features 33 rooms, a swimming pool, and a vegetarian restaurant where you can help prepare your own food if you have special needs. It is a very comfortable spot for those travelers looking for a three star hotel within a short hour drive to either San Jose, the Pacific coast or Arenal Volcano. This hotel is known for being Eco friendly and is located in an animal friendly zone. The staff is great. It has a real feel of being a home away from. This hotel however is not for those looking for nightlife or a posh hotel. It is also located one hour away from Arenal.

It has 42 rooms with all the amenities one would expect. Each of the rooms has a balcony or terrace to enjoy the views of the Volcano. Some other general amenities are swimming pool, spa, souvenirs, sports bar and restaurant. What we do not like, and I mean really don´t like, is that this hotel has the feel of a typical North American hotel, which is not what you look for when you go to a natural paradise like Arenal.

Volcano Lodge has a reputation for their delisous breakfast that is included when you stay there. It is just large enough to make it fun, but small enough to keep the charming feel of a typical Arenal hotel. This hotel is great for those who love gardens and a somewhat festive atmosphere.

On site is one of the best spas in the area as well as a delicious international cuisine restaurant and a pool with a swim up bar. What makes Montana de Fuego special are there deluxe and suite rooms. These modern cabins have the best views of the volcano, and take full advantage of it with their large window panels. One drawback to the hotel, which could also be looked at as a possitive, is the distance between cabins and the pool area. You may need to walk for more than five minutes to get to the pool area and 8 minutes to get to the Spa.

Best view in Arenal period! Located a few miles inland, this hotel offers pure seclusion. All of the rooms are private cabins with beautiful patios out back looking at Arenal volcano. Lomas del Volcan is not located on the lava side which means you will not see any lava, but I don’t think I would want to be on that side in any case! This hotel is not recommended for those who do not have a car, as it is too far from the road to walk anywhere else.

I stayed here with my girlfriend for two nights while in Arenal and found the location absolutely magical. We took the partner massage package at the Spa, relaxed to the sounds of the jungle and I actually got to see a monkey peeking in my window!!! We had the deluxe room, although I wish we had stayed in a standard room since they seemed to have a better view of the volcano. What I like most was that our room was actually a small cabin with huge panel windows to take advantage of the awesome views.

This hotel has the best value for your money in Costa Rica. Reasonable rates, air conditioned rooms, comfortable beds, huge bathrooms and a perfect view of the volcano makes this hotel the perfect choice for travelers on a budget. Also, I loved their buffet breakfast that was included with our stay. This is not for those looking for luxury.
